VETERAN FJ

We were able to get all of the accessories hooked up off the drive belts. We also got started on the fabrication of the new radiator supports. little by little we are making ground!

COMANCHE

We completed an articulation of the suspension for full travel and came up with some interesting problems. The front suspension needed to be re-done due to the driveline hitting the control arm. Soooooo we fabricated a new arm and bent it for clearance. The front bump stops also needed some re tooling along with the suspension. Domino effect for jeeps, go figure.

The rear suspension needed some revamping as well. Here is a shot of the track bar mount that was moved to allow more clearance for the rear axle. Moving this mount back should correct any problem in the future.

Lastly we fabbed a smaller version of the fuel filler housing, less metal to suck up my gas!

"MULE" TJ

Here we have a member of the Green Mountain Crawlers TJ for some work.

Mule had a failure with the rear track bar mount which attached to the axle, which made for 4 wheel steering. Not good when it is not intended! We welded up the mount to firm things up which made things much better.

Here is a picture of the front lower control arm mount which is getting some treatment as well. We are removing the cam to weld in a solid spacer which should make things more reliable. Maybe we will bend the brackets back into their original shape and reinforce them as well. Have you seen the material Jeep makes these brackets out of? We had someone comment today that the control arm mounts don’t look big enough to mount a fender on. No wonder they fail so often! Oh yea, since it's here, the windshield washer doesn't work too. Since we shouldn't attach a portable water tank with a garden hose, I guess we can fix that too.....

THE SHOP TUNDRA

I needed some steps for the Tundra so I got these stainless steel steps from Westin. This whole business of “getting old” is really getting old. Seems like I need an extra step up into everything now!

Here is a shot of the "after". Very nice clean look, and the guys mentioned that these brackets were some of the nicest installation they have had. Another quality install using quality parts.

MINI COOPER

Here we have yet another vehicle in for a coolant leak. Seems to be the week for coolant leaks! I keep telling everyone that we service all makes and models, and it looks like people are hearing us.

CHEROKEE

We have this jeep in for a transfer case linkage problem. Surprise! Although we have many solutions to this common problem which will make this jeep even better than before. This one was schedule for a few weeks down the road for some steering revisions, it just got brought in a bit sooner when the linkage failed.

SILVER RUBICON

Finally we have this rubi in for some custom fabrication on the rear end. First we are getting rid of the modified stock rear bumper for a more solid version. We will also make a custom Hi-Lift bracket inside to keep the jack free of mud and road grime. Added to the list will be a tool box and rack combination for more storage solutions inside.
I also want to mention that our blog is now "smart phone" friendly! Look for our blog now while you are bored at work and don't want to use the company computer!!
