Welcome to Performance Unlimited, your automobile performance experts!

Friday, March 25, 2011

I would like to take a minute to introduce my staff here at Performance Unlimited. Jeff Shepard and Wayne Kruse are my full time helpers, and Ray Fotion along with Joe Legace are part time help. These guys take the time, make the effort, and exceed at making customers dreams into reality. Keep tuned for bios on all of the crew here at Performance! We of course can’t forget Lisa, for without her, this venture would never happen. While she doesn’t get her hands dirty very often, she is making sure everyone is paid and sometimes fed! Special thanks to guys like Shawn Marchetti who takes care of this web blog for us.

Toyota FJ40

We are wrapping up the lift kit on this tried and true warrior and finishing up on some minor custom mods to send this veteran back into battle, or the mall.

THE COMANCHE

We have received one of the doors back from the painter and the yellow is excellent! The old YJ would be proud to see the next torch holder for Performance.

Here we have the engine bay cleaned out, finish welding has been completed, and the front axle removed. The Indian is ready for a visit from the painter to shoot it with primer. This is going to be really cool!

CUSTOM AXLE

Here we have a Ford 8.8 axle that we are doing some work to. We are installing an ARB Air Locker, and 4.88 gears. Next weare going to rebuild the braking system for more confidence when an "oh crap" happens. This will find a home underneath a Jeep Cherokee in time.

99 Red TJ

Here we another piece of the puzzle with this TJ. The crossover steering system is finished, the Warn fuel tank skid plate is on, the hand throttle is installed, some new Hella headlights are installed, and the Banks Exhaust is on and making noise! The new Smittybilt rear bumper and tire carrier are going on next. Soon this will be ready for the customer to come get it, and take it out to play.

2007 Toyota Tundra "The Shop Truck"

We just got this honey to run errands with and tow our junk to the trail head. Toyota reliability and plenty of room for stuff to cart around the Upper Valley to bring
back to the shop. This will be a great asset for us, and another addition to our family here at Performance. What mods do you suppose we could find for this?

99 GOLD TJ

Here we have the "after" shots of this trail ready TJ. Wheels and tires, Bellyup skid plate, and rock sliders will keep this Jeep moving and sliding through the trail.

Next is the front bumper complete with a Warn M8000 winch to "be prepared" for the sticky situations that are bound to happen. There are 2 kinds of Jeepers out there. The first one, is the one that has been stuck and had to be winched out. The second one is the one that NOT has not been stuck YET.

Which kind are you? When you figure it out, either at home, or the trail, let us help you out at the shop. The rear bumper / tire carrier is complete with2 recovery point shackles, a 2" receiver, and 2 cut-outs for extra lights to be mounted within the bumper. Best place to keep them from trail hazards!

WOW, we have been working like mad on this project! Check out the new frame rails front to rear. The engine mounts came out great, not to mention that they are grease able.

Here is a picture of the PSC Hydro ram steer assist system. Right in front of the ram is a mounting bar that is also set up to come apart when the time
comes to service the front differential. The other picture of the Hydro ram system also showcases the custom long arms that are welded to the axle, another Performance exclusive!

Here we have the Currie Antirock stabilizer system. We have installed this system on our Comanche as well as several other projects and expect this to give this monster the control
and flexibility it wants, and needs (when you are this big, you get whatever you need).

Next up is the start of the mount for the transmission and transfer case. Rugged and designed for maximum strength.

Last we have a shot of the middle of the frame showing how we tied in the front and rear long arms to the frame. This YJ is by definition a true "Monster".
