IS IT GETTING HOTTER? OR IS IT ME?

THE COMANCHE

We have been moving along on the Indian, more than I thought this week. We got the steering components started by installing the linkage to the steering box. We also welded up the floor pan along with the underside as well.

Next up we got the brackets welded onto the axle, ready to go.

Finally we have fabricated the "shock covers" to cover the top mount of the coil overs. Clean looks, and it will help keep the trail stuff from getting out of the wheel wells.

THE VAN

Sounds like a horror movie? Call mom and tell her you are fine. We have the van for the Killington Mountain School here for some truly custom work that will keep moms everywhere happy. This van didn't come with 4th row seating so the owner wanted a custom seat to hold 4 kids in the back, complete with belts.

THE MONSTER

The engine sits very nicely inside the CJ bay. The tubes that are in front of the shot were for mock-up only by the way. You will also notice on the firewall we added a cowl bar for more strength. We were also able to get the frame up to 90% done, tying everything in to boot.

Here we have the front axle truss completed, and ready for duty. Running large swampers with the 1 tons will require beastly strength, which this has all day long.

Next up we have cut out the rear tub for the massive coil overs needed to keep these axles in check. Beef up one area, and you better think about what needs to follow suit.

Nice picture here of the Performance control arms, fabbed and painted, ready to install.

Lastly we have the beauty for the beast. FAST EFI is supplying this work of art in electronic fuel injection systems with this throttle body. Beauty and brains in one piece, nice!

97 White TJ

The doctor worked his magic on this one. We removed the rust and patched the frame in multiple places before we got started on the suspension work.

You will notice some fresh paint where we got rid of more rust, and installed a new fabricated upper control arm mount, along with removing, patching, and then re-welding the lower mount. Rough Country supplied the new lower control arms to keep things solid.

Here we have a picture of the Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks, located all around! Selectable from 1(soft) to 10 (hard). We set these at 5 for everyday driving, but depending on how you wheel the trail, you might want to go stiffer, maybe a 9 or 10 if you are hard core. Rancho also supplied the new steering stabilizer system. The 33's this jeep has scream to be tamed with this unit.

Here is another new product we have designed at Performance. Fabricating frames, roll cages, and everything in between require a lot of thought. This little number can be welded into the tubing, and with the bolts located in the middle of the tube clamp, you can un-bolt your roll cage or any component you may want to make! Currently available for 1.75” x .120” tubing, more sizes coming soon!
