THINGS ARE HEATING UP

We wanted to start off the blog by announcing that we are now an authorized dealer for
Poison Spyder Customs! We offer the complete line of their products so come on
down and let us give you some Poison! We are also a dealer for many other
manufacturers, so if you are looking for something in particular
give us a call!

1950 MERCURY RODDER

We have this lead sled back again for a couple of tweaks. We are installing new seats in the front, and also working over the braking system before the customer breaks this beauty out for cruising season.

THE COMANCHE

We got a couple of things done to the Indian this week. The brake boost system got installed to help out with the Super Swampers. We also got the bed painted, and one of our part-timers fabricated a one off fuel filler housing.

MONSTER JEEP

What a difference a week makes, and little sleep, long hours, little bo-peep and a can of Lysol (yea, the no sleep part). Lets start out at the front. We got the winch plate fabricated and cut to fit right behind the front bumper complete with roller fairlead.

We also got started on the tube fenders locking them into the cowl tubing, the frame, and the front end.

Next up we have the front shock mounts that are tied into the frame, as well as the cowl tubing. Beauty and strength in one.

Here we have the FAST EFI carb system mounted to the beast of a V8. This system is also 3 times lighter than a traditional carburetor. Brains, good looking and lightweight, doesn’t get any better than that! The wiring has also gotten underway to tie everything in.

We got started by mounting the control arms in the front to the axle. Drivelines were also installed to get the jeep ready to rock.

All of the control arms front to rear have been installed to tie in the suspension. Plate steel has been added to the rockers for strength and protection. We continued that theme from the "b" pillar to wrap around the rear. Sheet metal is made to bend, dent, and to fold under pressure. We upped the ante, plate steel to reinforce that rear end, and a great foundation for the rear tube fenders. "Competition Cut" rear fenders provide excellent space for articulation of those massive swampers.

I can't tell you how many hours have gone into the cage fab. I can add on my two hands, and one foot how many hours of sleep I have gotten. The ultimate in roll protection has to be one of the priorities of this build. All that power, the travel of the suspension, doesn't mean anything if you can't go home and tell your loved ones about it. (Video cameras will help!)

Here is another shot of the competition cut rear, as well as the Antirock system for the suspension.

Finally we have a parting shot of the cage, and we mocked up the fuel cell in the rear of the tub. Now it's time to go home and get some sleep.
